We were charged for damages to the windshield that we did not do.  We rented the car from the SLC airport because they were 'cost effective'.  The car was a Toyota Versa, kind of a piece, but that is what we get for our money so we weren't too concerned about that.  The sales people were polite, they did try to up sell but that is their job. 

When we returned the car, the employee at the return area inspected the car and gave us a receipt for the correct amount, which was supposedly charged to my Visa. About a week later, the charge showed up on my statement at $148 more than my receipt.  When I spoke with them, they told me it was for "windshield damages".  The windshield was not damaged while we were in possession of the car.  When I called the claims office, they told me there was nothing they could do.

I would recommend paying the extra $10 a day somewhere else.  Between business and personal travel, I often rent cars, and have never had a problem with Enteprise, Avis, or Budget.  I read the reviews for this location (a little too late) and found that I am not the first person to have had this issue with them.  If you do go for the low bidder, be sure to get some sort of sign off (apparently the employees signature on my receipt wasn't enough) before leaving the vehicle!
