Watch out for the upgrade scam when picking up your car from this company. I had pre-book an intermediate class through through Economy Car hire in the UK, and I was offered an upgrade when I went to pick up the car which I refused. I was then offered an Intermediate SUV at for no extra charge.

When I queried the charges listed on the contract form. I was told that this was just showing the fee I had already paid in the UK plus the local taxes, and it was just the way there computer system handled the upgrade. Only to find when my card statements arrives I've been charged an extra £355.

On complaining all I was offered was  50% refund basically because it comes down to their agents word against mine. They confirmed that their agents are on commission to sell upgrades, so who has the incentive to lie?

Don't believe the agents, and read the paperwork when you are over the jet lag!!
