My wife was informed at the Belize Budget Rental counter that Visa International has informed Belize that they will no longer honor claims for damages or losses to rental cars.  This is a lie.  I checked with my credit card prior to renting and there is no such mandate from Visa International.

So Belize Budget has wrapped the LDW and the CDW conveniently to scam us for the $8.00 per day CDW that is already covered by Visa.  When my wife asked the guy for written confirmation of the mandate (smart girl that she is), the rep did not want to provide the document I am looking at right now.  Obviously, he reluctantly agreed to produce same.

So now, thanks to Budget, who takes no responsibility in what they call their franchises local or overseas, has managed to work me into a position where I will write this review all over the internet.

Stay away from Budget, read the fine print.  Generally, if a car rental place is cheaper, there is a reason, and you may be the next mark.
