We rented a car from the Budget car rental at O'Hare airport.  We knew that they would charge an arm and a leg for gas, so we gassed the car up directly before going to the airport - in the city, so we drove the distance from chicago to o'hare, which is not very far. The car was full if not full then 7/8th full at the minimum.  They charged us $75 for 4/8ths of a tank of gas.  There is no way we had used that much.  We drove this car from chicago to rapid city, sd and back - it could go at least 300+ miles on a tank of gas, no way the 15 to the airport used HALF.

Total ripoff.  Now I feel even better that we easily put 2500 miles on their car.
