for a 7 day rental upgrade of $20 a day I was charged $234, not $140. I tried to account for taxes, but could not account for the nearly 85% taxes. When confronted the agent said they were taxes, not only on my upgrade, but also for my original rental charge. I showed then the receipt for my original reservation which included a line item for taxes and their response was that by taxes, they meant original AIRPORT taxes. I'm sorry, I thought I rented a car, not a plane! Oh, by the way, I had to upgrade because they didn't have the car I reserved, said they didn't even have that car at the Ft. Lauderdale location! Instead of offering me a free upgrade they offered me a discount on an upgrade. Good thing I used American Express, going to dispute the entire transaction. Pitiful excuse of a company, will never rent from them again!
