I have rented a lot of cars in Valencia, and I usually use Centaurio, however recently the search came up with a car from Goldcar rental, so I wanted to compare the service from each directly

1   Pick up.  Centaurio came quickly to the aiport on each occasion, and once, when I was lost in the rain, sent a car especially to pick me up from an industrial zone.

I waited for 15 minutes for the Goldcar bus, which too quicly filled up with passengers who had arrived after me, so we had to wait a further 10 minutes.  When I mentioned this I was accused of a 'Kindergarten' mentality by the agent.

2  Duration of Car Hire

Centaurio cheerfully changed the time of pick up and return on the contract to actual time collected.

Goldcar refused to change the time even though they had been partially responsible for the delay.  They also refused to change the time of the return, making it 2 hours ealier than the collection, which was very inconvenient on the day of return.  They said this was unavoidable because of

3  Paying for a full tank of fuel, even on short rentals

Centaurio took the cost of petrol, but agreed to refund immediately as long as it was full on return.  They checked the car on arrival and refunded on the spot

Goldcar said they would refund 'unused' fuel within 24 hours.  3 days later I was still waiting for a refund  for a half tank worth nearly 40 Euros and had to make a formal comnlaint.

My advice would be - look around for an alternative to the cheap but not cheerful Goldcar at valencia airport.  Centaurio is only a block away but are much easier (and ultimately cheaper) to rent from.
