| Review regarding EuropCar Prague Car Rental |
We spent 10 days in Prague, Czech Republic, and although discouraged by friends and couple of informational web-sites, we decided to hire a car. Prague Airport is of average size and people from non-Schengen countries (meaning everyone not arriving from continental EU) use the old Terminal 1, really shabby comparing to the new shining T2 (they are connected and you can walk to the new terminal). Car hire counters are located in the arrivals hall. The first good thing is that you won't wait. There was NOBODY, and I mean nobody at all waiting at any of the counters so we got full attention. The rate from EuropCar was as promised and it included full insurance, just as we booked. Guy at the desk had a very decent command of English. The second good thing was that the cars are all in the multi-storey parking garage some 2 minutes of walking away. They carefully checked the car in front of us and marked all the scratches on a diagram that both sides signed. We brought a portable GPS navigation with us and it is advisable to have one while in Prague. There were almost no traffic jams, as we were told because of summer holidays. We planned couple of trips out of town and had absolutely no problem with the car, except for parking in the city. To park in the centre is sometimes virtually impossible if you don't know of some well hidden parking, but there was absolutely no problem with parking out of Prague (we had prepaid parking in our hotel). Drop-off was also easy. You just park the car in the garage, they check it again and off you go to your flight. |
