Car Rental location

My sister & I are attending our cousins’ wedding in Fiesole in April

& are heading south throughout the Tuscany region for a week.We want to

rent a car beginning on April 22nd from the nearest (to Fiesole) non airport location,we don’t want to drive in Florence-any advice would be appreciated.

Rental car drop off

I am planning to rent a Hertz car in Munich and drop it off in Florence on 8 Oct. I am staying in Florence at the Grand Hotel Minerva, Piazza Santa Maria Novella, and would like to drop the car off at the Via Maso Finniguerra Hertz location (closest). I understand that I need to get a permit to drive into this area (historic Centre) during business hours. How can I get this permit in advance of my arrival? What are considered "Business Hours".

If I have to drop the car off at a more distant location ( e.g. Via Novoli ), do the  Hertz outlets provide transportation to the hotels in the Historic Center??

Open to alternative suggestions.
