Car hire - Dollar at Miami RCC?

I shall be arriving in Miami after a long long flight from the UK in May and wonder if you could tell me if Dollar Car Hire is located in the main airport, arrivals hall area, or has it moved to the new RCC where we will have to get a minibus?

Can you please give me information about the new rental location for Avis. Will vans from the arrivals be Avis vans and where will they be located, ie which level.

We returned a car to Avis in the new center in July and had poor customer service in a non AC atmosphere, have things improved?

Hi Sheila, there is one central Shuttle service at MIA airport to the new Rental Car Center at Miami Intl airport. They are white buses with sign Rental Car Shuttle. (there should be MIA people mover/train during 2011 from the airport to the RCC)  The customer service for car rental pick up is at 4th level of the Rental Car Center. I think, that the service got better already at Miami RCC, as July was the opening month, so you probably experienced opening time problems...

do we have to use shuttle bus to get to the Thrifty counter at Miami International airport - MIA ? (or is their counter located in the arrival hall?)

Thrifty car rental counter in Miami airport is not located in the airport arrival hall - you have to take shuttle bus to their office - it takes about 10 minutes to get there. The shuttle bus is free of charge.

Take into consideration, that all Miami on-airport car rental companies will move to the new Miami Airport Car Rental Center - so, when this car rental center is open, there will be just one shuttle bus for all car rental companies located on-Miami airport - MIA.
