I rented a car from National location at the airport in Feb 2010. This was the first time I was renting from National. The car had pre-existing damage. National did not do a vehicle inspection with me and no one even showed me the inspection form. By the time I realised I had already passed the last agent. So I promptly phoned their customer service as soon as I could (less than half hour) and was put on hold for an hour. I explained my situation to the customer rep that no one had done a vehicle inspection and that the car had existing damage. I inquired should I return to the location, he informed me that no the report he filled out would be fine. I returned the car a couple of days later and expressed my disappointment with the attendant and the customer agent about renting me a car with damage and there not being a vehicle inspection. They apologized, told me that the report was filed and that it was all right I won't be charged for the damage. Over two months later I get a letter in the mail from National stating that I owe them for damages and time lost. I try to contact their damages unit and am unable to get through for a day. At this point the adjuster tells me that he doesn't know anything about damage before the rental and that all damage (according to the location) was caused by me. To sort this out I need to call the manager of National at Pearson. At this point I am put through automated hell as every number I am given by their representatives is not to Pearson but I keep getting pushed back to their call centres. No one knows the number for Pearson. I am currently still in dispute with National. This was the first and last time I will ever rent from them
