One way rental with no drop off fee - does it exist?
Yes, it does. But, there are just few companies not charging one way fees, e.g. Budget car rental - at some locations.
There are certain locations with very busy car rental branches and you may get one way car rental with low, or even no drop off charges - such locations may be, for example, Orlando or Miami, Florida. Many people rent cars in Orlando and return it in Miami - and also many people pick up their car in Miami and return it in Orlando - so the car rental companies can afford to lower the one way fees, as they know that there will be somebody willing to take the car back to its original branch.
It's a good idea to compare various car rental companies and offers, as sometimes a company offerring no drop off fee can have higher final rate than a company that charges you a one way fee, but with a cheaper base rental charge - so, the final price could be cheaper, even with a one way fee included...
We found, that THRIFTY car rental does not charge one way fees (no drop off fees) in FLORIDA and CALIFORNIA. You may also try Budget car rental - they also state that they don not charge drop-off fees at selected locations... Hertz also does not charge one way fees in/between several cities in California.
