Subject: Cancellation
Review of Sixt® Amsterdam Car Rental

Reserved  a car on line for 24 hours in Amsterdam.  My fault; did not notice the 150 KM per day included statement, as well as, the pick up and drop off times.  I thought since I was renting in an airport a pick up time of 8 PM and a drop off of 8 PM would be no problem.  After numerous e-mails the arranagements I wanted were going to double my original already billed amount putting the 24 hour rental cost at 167 Euro!  Not to mention that when I finally had to cancel 3 days later, the cancellation fee was the entire billed amount.  Keep in mind I asked to cancel within 30 minutes of the original reservation if my needs could not be met.  The final cancellation left SIXT over 2 weeks to rent the reserved car.

Pros: SIXT customer service replied quickly by e-mail,

Cons: SIXT cancellation policy is unreasonable and in no way takes into account the needs of the customer.  I do not think I will try them again ... too costly.
