Me and my husband spent our last 4 holidays in Spain including Malaga two years ago. This year we found a very acceptable price of the hotel we stayed at previously and decided to go there again. However, the weak point of our last holidays at Malaga was the car hire company - one of the smaller Spanish firms with hardly anyone speaking decent English, but thats a topic for another review.

We were more cautious this time and decided to go for relatively more costly Sixt which was recommended to us by our friends. Fred and Mary even got a free upgrade - we were not so lucky as the company did have the car we ordered :) but we were highly satisfied with the clean, low-mileage and almost new vehicle. It must be noted that although the Sixt office and garage are not directly at the Malaga Airport, by shuttle bus it takes only about three minutes to get there.

The staff was very well versed in their business and spoke decent English. We didn't wait a minute (well, it was off-season, I don't know how would it be during the summer) and all our questions were duly answered. As I said before, Sixt was dearer than most other car hires but the prices at Malaga are generally very low so we didn't really mind (especially when our hotel was such a good deal).

Drop off was again faultless and we were forgiven the 20 or so minutes we were late.
