We booked a rental car with Thrifty over the internet and upon our arrival in Rome Airport went straight to the Thrifty counter to collect our car. We were shocked to see that the line was incredibly long and the service at the counter, although friendly, was extremely slow and not too efficient. In the end we had no choice but to wait - for more than two hours - befre we could get our car. When we got to the counter we even found that the car we had booked was not available and instead they offered us a smaller car - not what we wanted. Eventually after some negotiation they gave us a bigger car instead which we accepted.

During our ride around in Italy we suffered a minor damage to the car which we had to present upon our return. Sine we had signed a full insurance this however was not a problem at all and cost us nothing apart from a few minutes wait while the damage was noted. So we ended on a much higher note.
