We travel to San Antonio several times a year (we're from Boston) and tried quite a few car rental companies so far. Frankly, we were never completely satisfied and they were either good but too expensive or had poor service or -the worst case- both. This time we tried Thrifty, which offered us a really good bargain and I registered with their frequent customer Blue-Chip program. Upon arrival to San Antonio Airport we went to the Thrifty counter but our key was not ready in the envelope, as they promise to Blue-Chip members. In fact, we did wait almost as long as anyone else. Anyway, the overall impression from their work was good and Thrifty' employees seem to be well trained and efficient. The car we got (a Chrysler) was almost new and definitely not something you would expect from a low-cost company, it was very clean and had few miles on it.
